There exist entities in this vast and ever-changing multiverse. Entities that defy mortal understanding and sensibility. They operate on a grander scale, serving their own purposes with varying levels of emotion, empathy, and other traits one would come to expect of a sentient lifeform.
For sake of simplicity, we shall hereon refer to them as “Gods.”
Gods are not inherently opposition to lower beings, however, they tend towards a mindset that limits their capacity to value individual lives. Much like cattle serves us, so do we them. Are we useful? Then we are cultivated until we serve our purpose. If not? We are eliminated without so much as a passing thought.
To preserve the safety of innocent lives is our mission. To this end, Project RAGNAROK is a continuing cycle of identifying potentially dangerous Gods, researching them, and either reforming, containing, or eliminating them.
Not all Gods spell doom for our kind. Some can indeed be understood and taught to understand mortal emotion.
Is this the “right” course of action? Such is impossible to determine objectively. But as it is our nature to struggle, so must we in order to survive.
