With such overwhelming abilities and inhuman personages, Gods may at points seem to be insurmountable obstacles, a mere fact of the universe that mortals will not be able to contend with.
Project RAGNAROK exists in direct opposition to such a mindset.
Gods, we have found through extensive research, are bound by flaws and limits just as we are. Namely, they are especially weak to what we have dubbed Conceptual Weaknesses.
As is found in a number of religions across the universes, Gods tend to occupy a domain or represent a concept. Something as broad as Magic, Heat, or Willpower, or as specific as The Sun, Adultery, or Blackjack. Their apparent embodiment of such powerful concepts to our daily lives is of course intimidating, but it comes with a drawback. They are strictly bound to their own strange nature, and when confronted with something that directly conflicts with that nature, it can easily incapacitate them.
For example, a God whose domain is Lies might be able to deny Facts by twisting the words of people intending to do good into painfully confusing misunderstandings. Such a troublesome ability can make communication nigh impossible. But, if one speaks objectively, with no room for interpretation, this power could in fact be negated.
The nature of Conceptual Weaknesses is why research is the most time-consuming part of our mission. What we may understand as a relatively mortal concept may in reality be more complex than it appears, or a God may resist what one might expect a weakness would be. An encounter with a God without taking necessary and exhaustive preparation spells certain failure, and our mission cannot end in such a manner.
With that, you have been debriefed on the basics. I shall update you with more specific files on our current targets in-person.
